BRAIDING THE FLAME OF BRIGID

With the fire in the head
The fire in the forge
With the fire in the cauldron burning
Let us braid a new cord
Lay down every sword
God's love in our hearts a-burning

(chorus)
Over and Under and Over and 'Round
We are braiding the flame of Brigid
Over and Under and Over and 'Round
She is braiding our hearts, our Brigid

Come drink at her well
Seek healing's true wealth
Take courage her flame is still
burning
Seek justice and peace
Come share in the feast
Her spirit is now preparing

(chorus) Over and Under...

She brings us new hope
The strength of the oak
God's love in our hearts is yearning
Thanksgiving and grace
For the whole human race
Her love for the earth we're sharing

(chorus) Over and Under...

May the spark she ignites
Blaze up and burn bright
Showering blessings all over Creation
May we welcome her fire
Our hearts to inspire
May her flame light a New Millenium

SOLAS BHRÍDE
A Christian Community Centre for Celtic Spirituality in the Spirit of Brigid of Kildare

Solas Bhríde is a centre where all may experience community so that the Spirit of Brigid may find appropriate expression in our time. Solas Bhríde was founded (I believe) by (two) Brigidine Sisters, Mary Minehan and PhilO'Shea. The Brigidine Sisters, founded in 1807, are a restoration of the ancient order of Brigid. In 1992 they came to Kildare to re-connect with their roots and to reclaim Brigid in a new way for a new millenium. This led to the re-lighting of the flame of Brigid, in 1993, which burns perpetually at Solas Bhríde.

CÁIRDE BHRÍDE

Friends of Brigid, in association with the Brigidine Sisters, is a group of men and women inspired by the values of Brigid to promote peace, justice and reconciliation.

If you are interested in spending some time in Solas Bhríde community, becoming a member of Cáirde Bhríde, traveling to Kildare on pilgrimage, or networking with any and all of the above, please contact...
