Comments: I appreciate you creating this page. I went to bootcamp this August and was seperated because I have a dease in my back. I was in medical hold for about 3 weeks and at that time there was a wiccan group you could go to on Saturday's. (I'm still studing this religion) Anyways, at the same time I hadn't heard from my mother since I got to bootcamp, and nobody at home knew what was going on with her either. I asked the priest of the group to read my Tarrot cards to see if he could figure any thing out. Well he told me a lot of stuff I figured I would of but at the same time it was the things I didn't wasnt to here. Well all of the sudden he asked me if I had a god that I spoke with, of course I didn't. Well his is Aphrodite, and she was speaking to him then and he said that she was repeating the naame of Brighid. So this is what lead me to your page. There are a number of reasons that I remain solitary, among them is the lack of communication within each coven that I know of. It occurs because the words used mean different things to different peoples. Words are symbols for our personal experiences. Communication seems to be the establishment of shared experiences, something we agree on. There are no "assumptions" in effective communication. Let me give you an example that occured today between my chiropractor and me: She asked if my pain level was tolerable. My response was that I have a extremely high tolerance, what did she mean by 'tolerable'. To her it meant "minimial" - AH! now we could communicate. See what I mean. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed, as well as very moved, especially by the 'Consumption' page. Something within your words struck deep into my heart and my soul, stirring the parts of me that I had thought were long-dessicated, dried by lack of the waters of comfort, of companionship, of that sense of being part of something larger and more heart-stoppingly beautiful that is so integral to those of our beliefs. It wasn't a comfortable awakening--it was the oak tree bursting through concrete of banality into the sunlight, it was....yes, consumption. Thank you.
