Sandalwood is one of the most ancient and sacred scents.  It is aligned with both solar and lunar energies and, as it carries the property of spirituality, I chose it to be an offering to God/dess and an aid in the creation of sacred space.

Lavender is good for peace and conscious-mind oriented formulas.  As it carries the properties of love and protection, I chose it to invoke a serene state in which positive introspection and self-exploration can occur, and since it is aligned with the planet Mercury and the element of air, I chose it to aid in communication with the spirit world.

Chamomile is good for meditation and inducing peace.  Being aligned with the element of water and carrying the properties of purification and love, I chose it to invoke a gentle cleansing.

When I was starting to think about the artwork I wanted to create for this candle, the labyrinth came to me.  It seemed apropos, considering the intention of the blend, as the labyrinth, by it's very nature, is sacred space and its path carries us to our own center where self-exploration and healing takes place.
